Low Sensory Hour
We will be introducing Low Sensory Hour on Wednesday 22nd of May between 2:00pm - 3:00pm at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre. After this date, it will be an ongoing weekly event each Wednesday from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.
We want to make our venue as accessible and inclusive for all our members and customers.
Initially, we will be implementing Low Sensory Hour in the Aquatics area. It is a time where we turn the music off, dim the lights (where possible) & turn off the splash park.
The initiative aims to minimise visual and auditory stimulation to create a more accessible environment, particularly for anyone who experiences sensitivity to light and sound.
This will give families, carers and people living with Sensory sensitivity a place where they feel safe and supported and will create a more connected community.
Please be respectful and encouraging. Low Sensory Hour is a safe time and place to interact within our facility.
